“Bizarre Classics” by Principal Flute Ben Smolen

Ben Smolen, our principal flute musician, gives his
recommendations for the Pacific Symphony Summer
  Soundtrack.

”My non-musician family and friends often ask me for
recommendations for classical music that is stimulating
and different while still being somewhat accessible. This playlist reflects some of my favorite suggestions. Each piece has some sort of unique, ear-opening quality—eerie orchestration, crunchy harmonies, revolutionary form—but they are all also a lot of fun to listen to!”
